EDITOR'S LETTER
The conundrum - to snack or not to snack - has been a bit of a preoccupation for me as my pregnancy progresses, to say the least. I've been caught red-handed more than once dipping into the snacks we called into the office to photograph for Susie Burrell's story about the healthiest snack options for kids. The best thing about them is that they're straight off the shelf. Let's face it, even if you love to bake (actually, I live to bake) sometimes you need to take a few short cuts.
Of course, none of the snacks compare to the homemade muesli bars by our allergy-free food guru Rowie Dillon. They may look super healthy (and they are), but they are delicious too.
If your kids are feeling a little apprehensive about the start of the new school year, then packing them a super-cute bento box for lunch should get them excited about putting on their school uniform again.
And to help quell any anxiety you may be feeling about seeing your baby walk through the gate, Learning Curves by writer and mother of four Sophie Moeller is full of simple yet sage advice about how to help your child thrive at school. She is also married to school principal John Stewart, co-author with Dr John Irvine of Thriving at School, so she is well qualified to write this piece. And Read Me had some great tips on how to cultivate a life-long love of books in your child.
Till then,
