Australian Parents Baby Of The Year Competition

1. Competition is open to all Australian residents, except employees and immediate families of News Magazines, Woolworths and any associated companies of the competition.
2. The Baby of the Year competition commences 12.01am May 21, 2008 and closes 11.59pm August 11, 2008. The online only Reader's Choice prize commences 12.01am May 21, 2008 and closes 5pm August 11, 2008. No late entries will be accepted.
3. Enter online at www.parents.com.au/babyoftheyear or send in an entry coupon from the magazine to Woolworths/Australian Parents Baby of the Year, Locked Bag 5030, Alexandria NSW 2015 along with a proof of purchase from any Johnson’s Baby, Rafferty’s Garden or Woolworths Select Nappies products from a Woolworths/Safeway store.
4. A selection of entries will appear in the August/September 2008 issue of Australian Parents on sale July 23, 2008.
5. First prize is $10,000 cash and will be awarded as a cheque payment. Any tax implications on prize money are not the responsibility of News Magazines. The winner of the readers’ choice award will win a Gold Coast Theme Park holiday for a family of four.
6. Entries will be judged at News Magazines, 170–180 Bourke Rd, Alexandria, NSW 2015 at 4pm on August 12, 2008.
7. Five finalists will be chosen to attend a photo shoot in Sydney on August 19, 2008. Candidates will be notified by phone.
8. One return economy flight from the nearest capital city and one night’s accommodation (minimum 3 star, maximum 4 star) in Sydney will be supplied to each finalist and their guardian to attend the photo shoot. Transfers, meals and any incidental costs are not included in the prize.
9. The winners for both Baby of the Year and the Reader's Choice will be announced in the October/November 2008 issue of Australian Parents, on sale September 24, 2008.
10. Chance plays no part in this contest. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
11. Photos remain the property of News Magazines and will not be returned. News Magazines reserves the right to publish photos in Australian Parents magazine.
12. Entry is open to children aged between 0-2 years. Children over the age of two years (24 months) at time of judging are not eligible to enter.
13. Online entries must retain product barcode and Woolworths/Safeway receipt. Mail entries must include a receipt as proof of purchase from Woolworths/Safeway.
14. News Magazines and Woolworths take no responsibility for any late, lost or redirected entries.
15. By accepting a prize, the winner agrees to participate and cooperate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Baby of the Year 2008 competition.
16. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
17. News Magazines, Woolworths and their affiliated agencies shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered, including but not limited to direct or consequential loss, or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection to prize winning.
18. News Magazines takes cheating seriously. Anyone found to be using subversive techniques to artificially inflate an entry’s score will be disqualified. ‘Subversive methods’ include, but are not limited to, voting scripts, automated bots, macros, illegal data manipulation. News Magazines reserves the right to apply judgement where malicious techniques have been deemed to be used.
19. Photographs entered may NOT be professionally taken.
